1. Pounce Position – Tip Dresser
A. Position in front of tip dresser that robot can move to from home position without clearance issue.
B. Robot should be capable of moving directly to the approach position for tip dresser without interference.
2. Approach Position – Tip Dresser
A. Transition point from Pounce to cutter and holder approach.
B. Open gun and tip slightly more if necessary to clear dresser.
C. This position should have clear path to cutter/holder approach, and a clear path to tip dresser Pounce position.

3. Approach Position Close – Cutter/Holder
A. Fixed tip is offset 15mm away from cutter surface and gun is opened +15mm, so movable tip is roughly 15mm away from cutter surface.
B. Fixed tip weld face should still be normal and aligned with cutter/holder.
4. Dress Teach Position
A. Fixed tip surface is within 1-2mm of the cutter/holder surface.
B. Weld gun is properly centered and angularly aligned with cutter/holder.
C. Teach this position first, then back out and teach approach positions.

Tip Dress Pressurization

- Recommended pressure: 330lbf/1470N.
- Do not exceed 375lbf/1700N
- Recommended pressurization time: 1-1.3 second
- Longer than 1.3 seconds may result in clogging
- Standard Pressurization thickness for KTWHL Cutters: 5mm.
*Note: some applications use different thicknesses, so validate with customer drawing or manually measure.
After the tip dress, reverse back through positions 3, 2, and 1 to exit tip dresser.

Electrodes

Poor/Partial Dress
- This type of dress may occur when the timing of the dress needs to be adjusted or the cutter needs to be replaced
- Occasionally, this type of dress can pass a resistance check, but our TMN-01 tip monitor camera can catch this error

Optimal Dress
- This is a fully dressed electrode with a defined weld face edge
- No leftover residue is on the weld face

**Dia is the weld face diameter and Rem is the reflectivity judgment
